Whitworth University

Whitworth University is a private, Christian university located in Spokane, Washington. Founded in 1890, Whitworth is the oldest university in the Northwest and the only liberal arts college in the region. It has an enrollment of around 2,500 students and offers more than 50 undergraduate majors and several graduate programs.

The university's mission is to provide a rigorous educational experience for its students that is grounded in faith and service. Whitworth emphasizes developing well-rounded individuals who are prepared to serve their communities and make a positive impact on the world. The school also encourages its students to be active citizens by participating in service learning projects, internships, study abroad opportunities, and other activities outside of the classroom.

Whitworth's academic offerings are divided into four colleges: Arts & Sciences; Business & Leadership; Education; and Nursing & Health Sciences. The university also offers pre-professional programs such as pre-medicine, pre-law, pre-engineering, and pre-teaching. In addition to traditional classes on campus, Whitworth also offers online courses for those who prefer distance learning.

The campus itself consists of 60 acres of beautiful grounds with stately trees and landscaped lawns. The school has many buildings including traditional classrooms, residence halls, an outdoor amphitheater, athletic facilities like a field house and gymnasiums as well as tennis courts and golf courses.

Whitworth University is home to numerous student organizations such as student government associations (SGA), religious groups like Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC), sports teams like basketball and soccer teams as well as many clubs related to academics or hobbies like photography or music production.

The university also hosts a variety of events throughout the year such as concerts, plays, lectures by visiting scholars or authors, art galleries featuring student artwork or visiting artists’ works, film screenings with post-screening discussions with directors or actors from the films being screened.

In addition to its academic offerings and events on campus Whitworth University also provides its students with career services such as job fairs for internships or full time positions as well as career counseling services that help students prepare for their future careers after graduation from Whitworth University.
