University Of The Southwest

University of the Southwest (USW) is a private Christian university located in Hobbs, New Mexico. It was founded in 1962 by Dr. William R. Rea and is affiliated with the Churches of Christ. The university offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate degrees in education, business, ministry, and science. The university also offers online programs for those who are unable to attend classes on campus.

The University of the Southwest has a total enrollment of about 1,800 students. USW has an average class size of 15 students, allowing for more individualized attention from faculty members. The student-faculty ratio is 14:1 and the acceptance rate is around 70%. USW offers more than 40 majors, including business administration, criminal justice, education, psychology, nursing, theology and more.

The university provides several student services such as career counseling and job placement assistance as well as academic support services like tutoring and library access. USW also has an active student life with over 30 clubs and organizations that range from academic to religious to social activities.

USW has a variety of housing options available on campus including traditional residence halls and apartments for upperclassmen. The university also provides meal plans so that students can enjoy healthy meals while living on campus.

The University of the Southwest's athletics program includes men's baseball, basketball, golf, soccer and tennis teams as well as women's basketball, soccer softball and volleyball teams that compete in NCAA Division III athletics conference competitions.

At USW students will find a vibrant campus life with plenty of opportunities for growth both academically and spiritually through the many clubs and organizations offered at the university as well as through its spiritual life programs such as worship services held throughout the week on campus or through its spiritual retreats offered twice a year during breaks in classes .
