The King's College

The King's College is a private Christian liberal arts college in New York City. It was founded in 1938 by the Rev. Dr. James N. Dort, a Presbyterian minister, and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The college offers bachelor's degrees in a variety of disciplines, including arts and sciences, business, education, nursing, and theology.

The King's College is located in the heart of Manhattan’s Financial District near Wall Street and the World Trade Center site. The college campus comprises three buildings: The Empire State Building Annex, which houses classrooms and administrative offices; The Empire State Building Tower; and The Empire State Building Observatory.

The academic program at The King's College offers students a rigorous education that integrates faith with learning and encourages them to think critically about their world. Courses are offered in the humanities, arts and sciences, business administration, education, nursing science, theology and other disciplines to prepare students for professional careers or graduate studies.

The college has strong links with the local community through its involvement with various organizations such as the New York City Mission Society and the Lower East Side Tenement Museum. It also offers internships through its Career Services Office as well as study abroad opportunities through its Study Abroad Office.

The King's College also has an active student life program with over 40 clubs and organizations including student government, intramural sports teams, honor societies such as Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Chi Epsilon (the college’s chapter of Phi Beta Kappa), performing arts groups such as theater companies and choirs as well as service-oriented clubs such as Habitat for Humanity.

The King's College is committed to providing an environment where students can grow intellectually while developing their faith in God through spiritual formation programs such as chapel services every Wednesday morning; weekly Bible studies; retreats; mission trips; prayer groups; mentoring programs; service projects; leadership development seminars; community service opportunities; faith-based lectures series; weekly worship services on Sundays at 11am in St Paul’s Chapel on campus; participation in weekly chapel services at nearby churches throughout NYC (including St Paul’s Chapel); special events such as Christmas carols at Rockefeller Center or Easter sunrise services at Central Park; weekly student-led prayer meetings throughout NYC (including Times Square); monthly prayer breakfasts for faculty/staff/students/alumni/friends of The King’s College community; annual conferences on topics related to faith & culture (such as “Culture Shock: How Christians Should Engage Cultural Issues”); participation in weekly campus bible studies/discussion groups (such as “Questions & Answers:
