Northwestern College of Iowa

Northwestern College of Iowa is a four-year, private, Christian college located in Orange City, Iowa. The college was founded in 1882 by the Reformed Church in America and is affiliated with the Reformed Church in America. The college offers more than 70 majors and minors for students to choose from. It also offers a variety of pre-professional programs such as nursing and engineering.

The college has a student body of about 1,400 students from all over the world. Most of the students are from Iowa, but there are also students from other states and countries. The student-faculty ratio is 13:1 which allows for personalized instruction and mentoring opportunities.

The campus covers an area of 60 acres and consists of six major buildings: DeWitt Learning Center, DeWitt Library, DeWitt Music Hall, Bultman Student Center, Oosterman Hall and Van Zanten Hall. The campus also features a chapel, art gallery, theatre, fitness center and an outdoor amphitheater.

At Northwestern College of Iowa, students can participate in a variety of clubs and organizations such as the Student Government Association (SGA), Campus Ministries Council (CMC), Student Senate (SS) as well as several academic honor societies such as Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. There are also many intramural sports teams for students to join such as basketball, volleyball, soccer and softball.

The college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) which ensures that Northwestern College of Iowa meets or exceeds standards set by the commission for quality education programs and services offered to its students. It is also approved by the State Board of Education to offer undergraduate degrees in more than 70 majors/minors/pre-professional programs.

The college offers many financial aid options for its students including scholarships based on academic merit or need-based grants depending on individual circumstances. Northwestern College of Iowa also participates in federal student loan programs such as Stafford Loans and Perkins Loans which can help cover tuition costs or living expenses while attending school.
