North Greenville University

North Greenville University (NGU) is a private, Christian university located in Tigerville, South Carolina. Founded in 1892, NGU is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and offers over 100 academic programs at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. NGU is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award associate, baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees.

NGU’s mission is to “transform lives through higher education in a Christ-centered environment characterized by an uncompromising commitment to academic excellence.” The university strives to provide students with an academically rigorous education that also emphasizes Christian values and ethics. In addition to its degree programs, NGU offers a variety of student activities such as intramural sports teams, clubs and organizations, spiritual life activities, service opportunities and social events.

The university's main campus is located on 300 acres in Tigerville. The campus includes several residence halls; a student center; the Haygood-Holcombe Center for Business & Entrepreneurship; the Hayes School of Music; the Turner School of Theology; the Greer Campus for Adult & Graduate Studies; the Walker College of Health Sciences; Vardell Hall for Science & Mathematics; the NGU Library; and several sports facilities including baseball fields, soccer fields, tennis courts and a track.

In addition to its main campus in Tigerville, NGU has satellite campuses located in Greer (the Greer Campus for Adult & Graduate Studies), Florence (the Florence Center), Charleston (the Charleston Center), Columbia (the Columbia Center), Greenville (the Greenville Center), Anderson (the Anderson Center) and Greenwood (the Greenwood Center).

At North Greenville University students can pursue more than 100 undergraduate majors and minors as well as dozens of graduate degrees across four colleges: The College of Arts & Sciences; The Hayes School of Music; The Turner School of Theology; and The Walker College of Health Sciences. In addition to traditional undergraduate programs such as business administration or nursing, NGU offers unique degree programs such as Christian studies or outdoor leadership.
